SEYMOUR RAILWAY STATION |
|
One of Victoria's most historically and architecturally significant railway stations, the Seymour Railway Station will not disappoint with its extravagant architectural character. Beginning life as a temporary timer building, in 1874 and 1875 the permanent buildings were constructed. This consisted of an especially large refreshments room, kitchen, dining rooms and basement cellar. Although slight modifications have been made of the years, the key elements of the original design remain intact. Seymour Railway Station is historically significant as a rare and intact example of a station building built during the 'light lines' era and still provides a key link between Victoria and the northern states of Australia.
